SEMP Fitness Coaching: What is it? 

God has made us of three parts: spirit, body, and soul (our mind will, and emotions). In order for our lives to be in balance, those three areas must align. If you've ever worked out and improved, or tried to improve your body, you may feel that there is something still missing.

​That's because we haven't trained our spirit and soul. When we do that we begin living a more balanced, holistic, lifestyle that equips us to do what we're called to do and be a greater version of ourselves daily.

My Journey

I've grown up as a Christian and Jesus Christ is the head of my life. Therefore I know how important it is to be aligned with His Will. While in college, I began my career as a personal trainer. Little did I know the paths and doors it would open. 

I started Vanbar due to losing friends I consider family to different aliments. One to Diabetes, one to high blood pressure, one to suicide. 

They were struggling with different battles in there lives. I felt that as a fitness and wellness coach, I could have done more. 

I spent the last few years of college trying to figure out what exactly God was calling me to do.

This lead me to Vanbar. To give guidance in your health and wellness journey. 

I know what it's like to not feel confident in who you are and wonder what your purpose is. I was there. I was at that point. And I want to help you overcome that. 

With Jesus on our side, there is no battle we can't overcome. We have make sure that our fitness and wellness is in tact so we can do what God has called us to do and be who he has called us to be. 

With over 8 years of fitness coaching experience, a lifetime in the Word and the honor of preaching and teaching the Word for over 13 years, being a Certified Fitness Coach, Life Coach, and Holistic Wellness Coach, I am ready to help you be Greater!

The Focus

In order to create a lifestyle change that will last, you first have to renew your mind and change the way you think (Romans 12:2). The way you see yourself and think about yourself has to be different. I focus on you. Your mind, body, and spirit have to be on one accord. I focus on your overall fitness and all the factors that affect your wellness. 
  • Spirit - Your inner self, your connection to God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
  • Soul - Your mind, will, and emotions
  • Body - Your physical self

​My approach is managing your training through all aspects of your health and wellness through Spiritual, Emotional, Mental, and Physical Fitness. Those four areas are the key components that I focus on:


  • Spiritual - Your sense of meaning and purpose​
  • Emotional - Being aware of your different feelings; nutritious eating and the impact if has on your health 
  • Mental - Your wisdom & knowledge
  • Physical - Exercise and how we care for our body by what we do and what we put in it
  • Social - A sense of community and strengthening the most important relationships in your life

The Intersection

You are not alone in this journey. 

I want you to look at it like this: You are on one end of the intersection, and I on the other. First, I need you to make the commitment to me, and more importantly to yourself that you are all in on this journey. When you have made that decision in your mind, I want you to meet me at the halfway point of that intersection.

​From there, we will finish walking the path together.  

Your goals are my goals. And we won't stop until they are accomplished.

You Aren't The Same As Everyone Else

Ever heard of those one size fits all programs? Of course you have. But let me ask you this? Are the same as everyone else. Of course you're not. 

You are a unique, one-of-a-kind individual, so why should your workout program be the same as everyone else? 

You may have even workout with a trainer before or tried on of those generic programs and not seen the results you wanted. That happened for a couple reasons: your program wasn't tailored to you, and it didn't provide enough. 

You may have paid anywhere form $50/session-$100/session, but still didn't get the results you deserve or the attention you should have received. 

Your program didn't take into account what you needed. Your program didn't focus on creating lasting change. Lasting change happens when we shift our mindset and work on improving not just our body, but our spirit and soul. 

God didn't make us just a physical being. So when we focus on just the physical and don't see a positive change in our fitness and wellness, we give up and go back to our old ways.

How Vanbar Fitness Coaching Works

  • Spiritual
The first step with anything is being in alignment with God. Our Spirit, Soul, and Body won't be in balance if we don't invite Jesus in. Therefore, we will focus on including Scripture reading regularly in your program to continue to connect our Spirit with God.

  • Mental and Emotional   ​
Our soul (mind, will and emotions) comprises our mental and emotional makeup. Fitness and wellness is more than just the physical. That's why we'll also look at factors that affect our mood. We'll look at our relationships and make sure we'll spend time fostering the ones important to us. We'll look at work/life balance, our thoughts, and how we feel about ourselves. After all God wants us to experience joy, so it is learning to get past just happiness, and instead enter into a place of regular joy. 

  • Physical
​Our body is so often neglected. Jesus often retreated for rest because he knew that his body needed care to do His work. We don't take care of our physical self and therefore that affects us mentally and emotionally, and it inhibits us from performing what God has called us to do. A lot of why we don't care for our body is due to a lack of knowledge and understanding, and not knowing how what is right for us. What may work for some else may not work for us. That is why we have to have a program tailored to our lifestyle and who we are as an individual. We'll make sure your body moves the way it should through exercise and creating a habit of a healthy nutrition.   

The Details

The good stuff! How does this all work? I'm so glad you asked. 

Your program can be accessed via a computer or the app (yes, you get an app, pretty cool, right?). Inside will be workouts each week for your specific goal. You'll have tasks throughout the day for helping creating the lasting change. That'll included scripture readings, meal suggestions, water reminders, motivational messages, and more!

You'll have a weekly video or phone coaching call with me each week to review progress and discuss any questions you have. Depending on the option you select, you'll also get a weekly workout coached by me each week.

You'll also never be left alone. You'll have access to me at any time with unlimited email support.

The Results

What you can expect to receive from coaching with me is an improvement in your spirit, soul, and body. You'll reap the benefits of lifestyle changes to your spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical fitness and wellness. Research shows it takes an average of 66 days to create a new habit, to create a lasting change. I usually recommend working with me for a 12 weeks to see those changes take effect (most have coached with me a lot longer!).

We'll improve your body so reduce any aches or pains you have, and help you feel confident in how you look. We'll create healthy eating habits to fuel our body with the right nutrients so you have more energy each day. We'll ensure you'll think positive and work on how to experience joy on a daily basis. 

And lastly, we'll create a habit of being connected to God to live each day with intention and purpose!

What is the commitment? 
Results won't happen overnight, but they can happen efficiently and effectively with the right program and focus. I recommend a minimum of 3 months working with me to see desired results. 

What if I'm new to exercising and this whole wellness thing?
Welcome to the world of fitness and wellness! We'll get you started on the right track and start you off with everything you need to know.

What if I'm advanced and having been working out for years?
I'd love to work with you as well. I'll met you where you are and take your fitness and wellness to another level. We'll help you reach another platform. If you are struggling with new goals to come up with, we'll help you develop some new goals, then shatter them. 

Is this right for me whether I know the Bible or not. Can your coaching still help me?  
It can, and it will. If you've been struggling with your fitness and wellness and wondering  and felt that there is something missing, my coaching will help you to be a greater version of yourself. 

What if I have an existing injury?
Not a problem at all. Part of working out is performing every exercise safely. I'll make sure that your program not takes care of your injury, but helps you strengthen that area as well.

When I start to see a change?
You'll start to see changes after 6-8 weeks generally. However you'll start feeling better, more energetic as soon as you begin your program. 

What if it's not for me?
I understand coaching isn't for everyone. After 30 days, if you decide that coaching isn't for you, I'll refund your money back 100% guaranteed! 

How long does coaching last?
Coaching last as long as you would like (at least a minimum commitment of 3 months). Some have stuck with coaching for years. So the most important thing is to Be Greater!
