This exercise will only take a few moments (or it could take a few minutes, hopefully not much longer than that) but bear with me.
I want you to take a moment and picture where you are in life right now. Picture where you are spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically. Picture where you are with your family, friends, work, hobbies, and finances.
Done that? Good!
That didn’t take long, did it?
Now this one may take a few moments longer, but I want you to picture where you want to be in those same aspects of life mentioned above.
Maybe that portion of the exercise took a few seconds, or a few minutes.
Now, if there is a huge gap between where you are now and where you want to be, or where you thought you would be, then it’s time to do something different.
It’s time to get uncomfortable.
Listen. We cannot control certain things that happen or other people’s behaviors. What we can control, however, is ourselves. We control how we think, our attitude towards people and things, and we control our actions.
In order to get from where we are now to a space we’ve never been, we have to leave our comfort zone. We can’t do the same things over and over again and expect different results.
We have to try something new. We have to take chances, we have to take risks and have faith that we can get to where we want to be.
If you have a fire burning down in your soul, urging you to do something, it’s time to listen to that urge. It’s there for a reason.
You may have to do something that may seem scary, but that’s just leaving your comfort zone. We get too complacent where we are and get so familiar with that zone we’ve known for so long, that even stepping one toe out of it seems like we’re about to fall off a cliff.
Trust and believe, that you are not alone. Allow the Spirit to guide you through that discomfort to get you to where you want to be. To get you to where you should be.
